Feed the Pack is led by its Student Leadership Team (SLT) and guided by its Advisory Board. The SLT manages the daily operations of the pantry while the Advisory Board provides advice and guidance for strategic planning, additional ideas, and support.

2021-2022 Student Leadership Team

Anna Gessner is the Pantry Manager of Feed the Pack.
Anna is a junior majoring in Nutrition Science and minoring in Business Administration. She began volunteering with Feed the Pack as a freshman and is excited to be a part of Feed the Pack’s leadership team and play a role in FTP’s efforts to ensure a better learning environment for all at NC State. Having grown up in Raleigh, North Carolina, Anna is eager to give back to her community. She is proud to be a part of Feed the Pack’s mission and is thrilled to serve the NC State community in this capacity.

Keya Pothireddy is the Outreach Coordinator of Feed the Pack.
Keya Pothireddy is a third-year from Raleigh majoring in economics and minoring in computer programming and statistics. Keya is looking forward to serving as the Secretary of Feed the Pack, because she believes in the importance of raising awareness for food insecurity. She is passionate about the mission Feed the Pack was founded on, and is proud to serve on a team with people who are dedicated to supporting the NC State community.

Cameron Morris is the Public Relations Coordinator of Feed the Pack.
Cameron is a junior from Ellicott City, Maryland. He is majoring in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Renewable Energy Sets. As a freshman, Cameron found out a little bit about Feed the Pack at NC State’s Welcome Week. Soon, volunteering Friday afternoons would be a bright part of the day, getting to contribute to something great. He is excited to be able to work with such a great team moving forward, serving the always undefeated Wolfpack community. Go pack!

Dana Petre is the Program Coordinator of Student Leadership and Engagement.

Dana Petre joined the Student Leadership and Engagement team in 2017. In her role, Dana supports the Feed the Pack Food Pantry and forms partnerships with non-profit community organizations and partners on and around campus. Dana also supports the online service platform to help connect NC State students to nonprofit and community organizations to facilitate meaningful and valuable civic engagement opportunities in the area. Dana strives to be an advocate for the food pantry and the students in order to help increase the knowledge about food and housing insecurity on campus while also connecting students to valuable resources and service opportunities.
Dana graduated from NC State University with a Master of Education in College Counseling and Student Development. Prior to her arrival at NC State, Dana attended High Point University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Maddy Smith is the AmeriCorps VISTA of Feed the Pack.

Maddy recently joined the Student Leadership and Engagement team in August 2021. Before coming to NC State, Maddy graduated from Dickinson College in May 2021 with a B.A. in Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies and Food Studies. Her undergraduate studies sparked her interest in non-profit work, with the AmeriCorps program being a great way to gain experience in said field. As the AmeriCorps VISTA, Maddy helps build capacity for the food pantry. Capacity building takes many forms, such as fundraising, broadening the pantry’s educational services, raising awareness about food insecurity, and deepening community partnerships. In addition to these responsibilities, Maddy is able to support and mentor the Feed the Pack Student Leadership team. So far in her role, Maddy has learned a wealth of knowledge about food security work, and how to work collaboratively and effectively with one’s community. She looks forward to expanding Feed the Pack’s partnerships and engagement both within and outside of our campus community during the rest of her service year.
