Cookware Kits

The Cookware Kit Program is a new initiative launched by Feed the Pack through the Pack Essentials Hub. These kits are intended to support students who cannot afford to purchase cooking equipment to prepare their food. Kits are loaned out at no cost for the semester and can include an assortment of items commonly used in cooking and baking.

Steps to participate in the program:

  1. Complete a Pack Essentials application to be connected with the Cookware Kit program and
select the items you are interested in, and your requested loan period.
  2. Receive a confirmation about the items and set up an appointment to pick them up and return them.
  3. Pick up your items from the Pack Essentials Hub.
  4. Cook delicious food!
  5. Properly clean and dry the items.
  6. At the end of the loan period, return your cookware kit items to the Pack Essentials Hub in North Hall.

The Cookware Kit program is an initiative that was started from Feed the Pack’s intake survey. In 2021, Feed the Pack’s survey indicated that many of our patrons lacked access to basic supplies to cook the food they received from Feed the Pack. For example, fewer than 50% of patrons indicated they had or had access to a can opener and only 46% had access to pots to cook in.
